The brick building behind the trees is a library. The doors down at the bottom lead into the library sub-basement. They are big enough to drive a whole truck through.

There are several mysterious doors down at the water level in this area. My guess is that they connect to the university steam tunnel system. The only good way to get down there is via the water.
